【2018.8.7】 Character Balance and WT Adjustments Notice

Hello everyone, I’m Jason from the Sdorica team. In the three months since the game’s launch, we added plenty of new characters and Skill Books (Alts).
Players have responded well by creating all kinds of unique teams. The production team was able to continually collect data and observe the balance between every character and each team composition.
We will be performing the first wave of character balance adjustments on 08/15. These changes are aimed at allowing these characters to be more flexible in terms of creating strategies and showcasing their traits.
The following notes are the adjustments planned for this patch:

  1. Lio

    • Ideas behind the adjustments
      • To increase Lio’s offensive and defensive capabilities
    • 2-orb skill adjustments
      • All tiers: Increase Heal ratio from ATK*1.35 -> ATK*1.8
    • 4-orb skill adjustments
      • All tiers:Increase Armor Penetration ratio from ATK*2.4 -> ATK*3
  2. Sherlock

    • Ideas behind the adjustments
      • Increase turn count for Sherlock’s Passive Skill to encourage players to create team comps using his Passive Skill as the focus.
        Buffs 4-orb skill as well.
    • Passive Skill adjustments
      • Tier SSR: Upon cast skill by ally, if the command zone is altered, grant Enhance for 3 turns (Previously 2 turns).
      • Tier SR: Upon cast skill by ally, if the command zone is altered, grant Enhance for 2 turns (Previously 1 turn).
    • 4-orb skill adjustments
      • All tiers: Increase Attack ratio from ATK*3 -> ATK*3.5; increase Heal ratio from ATK*2.7 -> ATK*3.15.
  3. Sione

    • Ideas behind the adjustments
      • Increase turn count for Sione’s 1-orb skill to increase her protection capabilities for the team.
        Buffs 4-orb skill as well.
    • 1-orb skill adjustments
      • Tier SSR and [Alt]: Grant self Taunt and Damage Reduction for 5 turns (Previously 3 turns).
      • Tier SR and R: Grant self Taunt and Damage Reduction for 3 turns (Previously no Taunt).
    • 4-orb skill adjustments
      • All tiers + [Alt]: Increase True Damage ratio from ATK*1 -> ATK*1.5
  4. Naya

    • Ideas behind the adjustments
      • Increase the expected damage value and Critical Strike chance of Naya. The purpose of this change is to smooth out her damage curve. By avoiding significant spikes in her damage, players no longer have to continuously retry quests to achieve the best results.
    • 2-orb skill adjustments
      • Tier SSR and SR: Attack (Ratio: ATK*1.2) selected enemy, 50% Critical Strike chance that doubles the skill ratio.
        (Previously: 20% Chance to trigger 4-orb skill instead)
      • Tier R and N: Increase Critical Strike chance to 25% (Previously 20%).
    • 4-orb skill adjustments
      • Tier SSR: Increase Attack ratio from ATK*2.5 -> ATK*3; increase Critical Strike chance to 50%; decrease Critical Strike damage to ATK*4.5.
        (Previously: 20% Chance for 3x (ATK*7.5) Damage)
      • Tier SR and R: Increase Attack ratio from ATK*2.5 -> ATK*3; increase Critical Strike chance to 25%; decrease Critical Strike damage to ATK*4.5
        (Previously: 20% chance for 2x (ATK*5) Damage)
      • Tier N: Increase Attack ratio from ATK*2.5 -> ATK*3.
      • Calculation of the Expected Attack ratios (SSR, Old VS New):
        • Old 2-orb skill: 1.2 *0.8 (No 4-orb trigger) + 2.5*0.16 (4-orb, No Crit) + 7.5*0.04 (4-orb, Crit) = 1.66
        • New 2-orb skill: 1.2*0.5 (No Crit) + 2.4*0.5 (Crit) = 1.8
        • Old 4-orb skill: 2.5*0.8 (No Crit) + 7.5*0.2 (Crit) = 3.5
        • New 4-orb skill: 3*0.5 (No Crit) + 4.5*0.5 (Crit) = 3.75
  5. Note: ATK means Attack Power, the number next to the sword icon in the Roster page.

Besides adjusting the character balances, we are also improving the competitive viability of the characters by adjusting the environment itself. As of now, we already have plans to update the Wonderland Trial on 08/20. All Monday WT quests will be given new scoring rules and quest content that shift from the previously speed-focus system to a survival-focus one. The score will be calculated based on the remaining HP of player characters upon clearing each wave. For each 1% of remaining HP, the player will be given 1 point. The content of the Monday WT quests has also been adjusted to correspond to this new scoring system.
Also, to ensure that the scores are balanced throughout each day of the week, days that retain the original speed-focus system will also have their scoring system adjusted. Now, clearing a wave will grant 300 points, while each turn used will deduct 3 points. We hope that this new system can give players new team building challenges and provide a new combat experience.
Please look forward to it!
